Legends, Folklore & Urban Legends

Every place has its stories. Some have been passed down for centuries, others started with someone who swears it happened to a friend of a friend.

This is the place for folklore, local legends, strange superstitions, old beliefs and urban legends from around the world.

Share the ones you grew up hearing, tell us about legends from where you live, or bring us something strange you've stumbled across.

And, of course, we can argue over whether there's any truth behind them. 👀

👻 Right, let's start with the stories that scared the life out of us as kids.

Did you have a local haunted house everyone dared each other to go near? A road you weren't supposed to walk down after dark? Something lurking in the woods? Or one of those stories that supposedly happened to someone's cousin's mate... so obviously it was 100% true. 😂

Tell us the legend everyone knew where you grew up. Bonus points if you actually believed it. 👀🖤
