The Story:
It always starts the same way—a knock on the door late at night.
You wake up groggy, wondering who could possibly be outside at this hour. The knock comes again, slow and deliberate. You shuffle to the door, peering through the peephole. At first, you see nothing but darkness. Then, two figures emerge from the shadows—children, barely illuminated by the porch light.
