Can We Trust Your Narrator?
For this exercise, you're going to write a scene from the perspective of someone who isn't telling us the whole truth.
Your narrator has witnessed something terrible. They're describing what happened, but there's one important detail they're deliberately leaving out.
Your challenge:
Write between 150 and 300 words in the first person.
Your narrator should sound believable, but include three subtle clues that suggest their version of events isn't entirely accurate.
Don't reveal what they're hiding outright. Let the reader work it out.
The tricky part: Your narrator doesn't have to be the villain. They might be protecting someone, covering up a mistake or hiding something far worse.
🖤 Share your writing in the comments if you'd like to take part.
And for everyone reading, see if you can spot the clues before the writer explains them.
Would you believe this narrator?
