The most unsettling stories aren't always about what the narrator tells us... they're about what they hide, misunderstand, or refuse to admit.

This challenge is all about making your readers question every word.

Now it's your turn! ✍️

Write a 300–500 word horror scene from the perspective of an unreliable narrator.

Perhaps they're lying.

Perhaps they're forgetting important details.

Perhaps they're convincing themselves everything is perfectly normal...

...when it clearly isn't.

Give your readers just enough clues to realise something doesn't add up, but don't reveal the truth outright. Let them piece it together for themselves.

Focus on creating tension through contradiction, omission, and uncertainty.
