🩸 Writing Challenge: Finding Your Voice
Every writer has a unique voice, but it isn't something you discover overnight. It develops through practice, experimentation, and learning what feels authentic to you.
This challenge is designed to help you recognise the difference between writing in your own voice and writing in someone else's style.
Now it's your turn! ✍️
Write a 200-word horror scene in your natural writing style. Don't overthink it—just write the way that feels most comfortable to you.
Then, write the same scene again, but imagine it was written by a completely different kind of author. Change the tone, pacing, sentence structure, description, or even the narrator's personality. Push yourself outside your comfort zone.
When you've finished, post both versions below and tell us:
🩸 Which version felt the most natural to write?
🩸 What changed between the two?
🩸 Did you discover anything new about your own writing voice?
The community will offer constructive feedback to help you identify the strengths that make your writing uniquely yours.
👇 Post both versions below and let's explore what makes your voice stand out.
